What to read, watch or play at Christmas

HELLO READERS!

Christmas holidays are round the corner and we have a lot of free time to watch films, series, to read a book, to play games… In these post I will recommend you from my personal point of view two films to watch and one or two fantastic books that you can read in your free time. Are you ready to know who are they?
So, let’s start!!

FILMS TO WATCH: One of the most thing that I do on holidays is watching a film. I like many genres of the films: scary, epic, drama, wars, comedy… In these month I saw many films but among many that I have seen, I like them too much two of them: THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON & INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a 2008 American romantic fantasy drama film directed by David Fincher. The film stars Brad Pitt as a man who ages in reverse and Cate Blanchett as the love interest throughout his life. That is, It turns out that Benjamin Button (as the "baby" ends up being called) ages in reverse. He was born at 70 and gets younger at the same rate that everyone else gets older. His parents are filled with shame at their abnormal child and force him to act like a baby, even though Benjamin has the body and mind of a much older man.

As I mentioned before Brad Pitt and  Cate Blanchett , they are the main protagonist of these film. Apart from them there are many others like Taraji P. Henson , Julia Ormond,  Tilda Swinton,  Jason Flemyng,  Elias Koteas,  Elle Fanning,  Mahershala Ali …. And the director is David Fincher.

I like it very much these film, because it is very curious as it says in the title. Also because appears one of my favorite actor that is Brad Pitt. Finally it is to mention that it is a very long film lasts approximately 2h 46min.

HERE YOU CAN WATCH THE TRAILER:

Interview with the Vampire is a 1994 American drama horror film directed by Neil Jordan, based on the 1976 novel Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice, and starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. The film focuses on Lestat (Cruise) and Louis (Pitt), beginning with Louis's transformation into a vampire by Lestat in 1791. The film chronicles their time together, and their turning of a twelve-year-old girl, Claudia (Kirsten Dunst), into a vampire. The narrative is framed by a present-day interview, in which Louis tells his story to a San Francisco reporter.

As I mentioned before, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt  and Kirsten Dunst are the main protagonist. Apart from them there are many others like Antonio Banderas, Christian Slater, Stephen Rea, Thandie Newton….

I enjoy very much watching these film because the dialogues and the script of the film is very good. Besides, the setting and costumes are very successful. Finally specially Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt they play their roles very well.

A BOOK TO READ:  I don’t really like to read a book but when I like the topic, I hook myself very fast. I hooked up very fast with the book “THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PYJAMAS”.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is a fictional tale of the unlikeliest of friends: the son of a Nazi commandant and a Jewish concentration camp inmate. Written by  John Boyne and published in 2006 by David Fickling Books, the story was made into a major motion picture in 2008.

Summary:
Germany 1942: Bruno's family moves to a new house, where he he meets another boy whose life and circumstances are very different to his own. Their meeting results in a friendship that has devastating consequences.

I really like reading these book. First of all you can see the point of view of a little boy called Bruno about how is the war whose father is a Nazi. Also, it is very easier to read and it describes very well the characters so that, you can easily imagine everything that happens. Firstly I recommend reading the book and later you can watch the film. From my point of view I like more the book than the film.

I hope you like and enjoy them on this Christmas!!!!!

The power is in our hands!!!

MALALA YOUSAFZAI
(born 12 July 1997 in Mingora )

Hello my readers!!

As you do know, every year choose one winner for the Nobel prize (Literature, Peace, Economics and Physiology and medicine). All of them are very interesting and important
person but MALALA YOUSAFZAI is one that call me attention. They give the peace Nobel prize in 2014 with only 17 years, she is the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate. She was born 12 July in Mingora.
I chose Malala Yousafzai because she call me attention for one reason: she defended the right of a women to education. Much of the world's population, especially in poor countries, is made up of children and young people. To achieve a peaceful world, it is crucial that the rights of children and young people be respected. Injustices perpetrated against children contribute to the spread of conflicts to future generations. Already at eleven years, Malala Yousafzai became an advocate for girls' education, which resulted in the Taliban issuing a death threat against her. On October 9, 2012, a gunman shot Malala when she was traveling home from school. She survived, and has continued to speak out on the importance of education and become a leading advocate of girls' rights.

They have given the nobel prize to Malala Yousafzai because "for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education".

In that chart, you will see different genres of Films and two most popular movies of that genres with some actors and the director. I haven’t seen all those movies but most of them I have seen. From my point of view all of them are wonderful so I hope that you will be excited to see them. If you have seen some of them comment which is your favorite film and what topic you like it most!

SOCIAL SITES

Hello my readers!

Resultado de imagen de social sitesToday I’m going to talk about the social sites the advantages and disadvantages that they have, about a traditional friend or a virtual friend and to finish about cyber bullying.

Nowadays all the people have social sites like instagram, facebook, tuenti… and it is very usual to have more than 100 followers. One of the advantages is, that you can share with those followers or friends any experiences of your life very immediately. Also, you can have friends from other countries and you can enjoy viewing pictures, videos... of your friends. In addition, when something happens to someone, you know very quickly, there is no secret and you know about gossips. Besides, these applications are free, thus, you can use them any time or moment.

On the other hand, not all are advantages there are many disadvantages. To start face-to-face communication skills decrease, so we spend less time with friend or with the family. This conveys inauthentic expression of feelings. Another disadvantage is that they distract you from your daily chores and produce laziness, so instead of meeting your friend, you can chat in social sites. They reduce family closeness because it is very usual in family meetings to see people chatting with their phones. Finally kids bully each other through electronic technology (mobile phones, tablets, computers).... so, cyber bullying increases.

But what happens when you need a real friend? When everything in your life is going well everything is perfect but when you have a real problem all those followers reduce. So you realise you need physical contact and not virtual contact. You know a traditional friend since you were small and you meet face to face with your traditional friends. Also, when you need help, a traditional friend, will help you in bad times, due to the fact, you have a lot of confidence. On the other hand, a friend in instagram, facebook, twitter… You don’t know who they are and you don’t meet them face to face. As you don’t meet them, you will not have their help, when you are in bad times so, you don’t have any confidence.

So, taking everything into account, I think that Social Sites give us very important advantages, but we have to pay attention how we use those Social Sites.

Welcome again, today I´m going to talk about my travel to ATHENS

Last year, for one week I went to the city of Athens (Greece) and I spent very good holidays in that city. In my opinion if you  like to know the history of the ancient Greece visiting the  ruins, Athens is your ideal site for having some very good holidays. First of all I'm going to make a little introduction of Athens:

Resultado de imagen de que visitar en atenasAthens is the capital and largest city of Greece. It has a mediterranean climate and is one of the world's oldest cities, with its recorded history spanning over 3,400 years, and its earliest human presence starting somewhere between the 11th and 7th millennia BC. Finally it is to mention that in Athens the first Olympic games were created.

So knowing all this I will explain some information and my point of view from my experience:

PLACES AND MONUMENTS TO VISIT IN ATHENS:

  • Resultado de imagen de partenon
The acropolis is in the top of Athens. There it's found the parthenon, Theatre of Dionysus Eleuthereus, Erecteion and other buildings. With the same ticket, you can also visit Greek Agora, Roman Agora, the temple of Zeus and Keramikos. ¡The children have a free ticket!

  • The centre of Athens is small and walking you can visit the most important Syntagma Square where is the parliament. In front of the parliament there are two soldiers guarding and you can take a photo one by one.

  • From my point of view, Athens is perfect to walk because near the Acropolis there are  many pedestrian streets. In Monastiraki square always there are a lot of people ¡it's full of life!. Lykavittos and Filoppapou mountains are in the middle of Athens and from both of them you can see all Athens. Personally I prefer Filoppapou Mountain because the views of Acropolis are very beautiful.

  • Mostrando IMG_20161003_222639.jpgYou can't miss Delphi place, it is very beautiful. From Athens it is about 3 hours by bus. There are many things there. For example archaeological remains of temples like the Oraculo, Temple of Apollo, the Olympic stadium…. The views are wonderful and it looks like a magical site.

  • I didn't go to Meteora place due to, the distance from Athens (5 hours). In my next travel I would like to visit Meteora, ¡It looks very beautiful!

TYPICAL FOOD OF ATHENS:

In Athens, the food is very delicious and cheap.

These are the most typical foods that I recommend to eat:

  • Souvlaki: Grilled skewered. It may be lamb, chicken, pork, fish or shrimp.
  • Moussaka: It is a kind of lasagna whose ingredients are minced lamb, eggplant and tomato.
  • Gyros: It is pita bread stuffed roast meat (chicken or lamb), tomato, onion and sauce.
  • Koulouris: It is a circular bread that it is decorated with sesame seeds
  • Greece Yogurt: It is a natural Greek yogurt.

The dish that I liked most was the Gyros dish, it was very tasty and very unique. If you go to Athens you must eat that dish, ¡you will not regret it!.

To eat all of this I would recommend you to go near square Monastiraki. In that square there are many good and cheap restaurants one of them where I ate was the Thanasis restaurant.

THINGS THAT SURPRISED ME:

All Athens is full of paintings, it is something that called my attention. The sidewalks are broken and they aren't appropriate for retired people. Also people drive very fast. In the motorcycles they don´t use helmet and the walkers cross the street with red light. The greek people in general are very friendly and tickets to visit the monuments for under 18 years old are free. Besides when you sit in the restaurant or in cafes the first thing that the waiter does is to serve a pitcher of water without paying. Finally, In Athens there are animals (cats, dogs…)  living in the street and in the monumental areas. I don't really like that because they made me sad but they have food and they look well and calm.

So, sometimes I seemed to be in a Village and not in one city. My experience in Athens was fantastic and I hope that this post helps you if you visit Athens.

See you soon!!!!!!!!!
